Richard A. Walker, 74, of Hill died peacefully at home on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015.
Richard was born in Cambridge, MA on March 27, 1941 to Clinton L. and Madeline (Durling) Walker. He was raised in Belmont, MA and graduated from Belmont High School. Following high school, Richard joined the U.S. Marines; serving from 1958 through 1964. Richard was a longtime resident of both Ashland and Lexington, MA until he retired to Hill, NH in 2001.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting antiques and was a longtime member of the Marine Corps League and American Legion. Willing to lend a helping hand to all he knew, and provide his family with an undying strength throughout his life, Richard was a consummate Marine; embodying the true meaning of always faithful.
Richard is survived by wife Sandra, son Craig, and brother Charles. Richard is predeceased by his mother Madeline and Father Clinton.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service with military honors at 2:30 PM on Thursday December 3, 2015 at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. Donations in Richard's honor can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Cremation Society of NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
