Robert A. Pelletier

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert A. Pelletier on May 22, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on May 14, 1946, in Littleton, New Hampshire. Bob lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to family, friends, and his country. Bob was the son of the late Archie and Florence (Carpenter) Pelletier. Early in life, Bob developed a lifelong appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. In 1966, he answered his country's call and served with distinction in the United States Army until 1969, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. For over 34 years, Bob worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his colleagues made him both a respected professional and a valued friend. Outside of work, Bob found joy in simple pleasures. He was known for his early breakfasts and fishing trips with his fellow veterans, where he was often seen sporting his signature black cowboy hat. His warm spirit earned him the affectionate nickname "Cowboy Bob." He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan (Barnet) Pelletier, who was his constant companion and greatest support. Together, they raised a loving family, including their son Robert and his wife Kristen (Neff) Pelletier. Bob was a proud and adoring grandfather to Alex Pelletier, Matthew Neff and his partner Liz Barrett, Jesse Neff and his wife Nicole Hardgrove, and Danielle Pelletier. Although he did not have the opportunity to meet his great-granddaughter, Maylah Pierce, his legacy of love will undoubtedly be a guiding light in her life. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Crawford and Nancy Dubois, brother-in-law Jimmy Barnet and wife Diane, sister-in-law Robin Covel and her partner Fred Duhaime, and brother-in-law Richard Barnet and his partner Mary Ellen Arigo. Bob's circle of friends was vast and included his close friend Charlie Karacas and his best friend Maurice Perrault, with whom he shared countless memories until Maurice's passing. Bob's grandsons fondly remember his sense of humor and silly jokes, which brought laughter and joy to those around him. He was a wonderful "Pops" who was always there when needed, embodying the very essence of loyalty and kindness. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Amedisys Wentworth Home-care and Hospice in Somersworth, NH, for their compassion and support during Bob's final days. In memory of Bob, donations may be made to Amedisys Wentworth Home-care and Hospice.

SERVICES: A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the life of a man who was loved by so many.
