Born in Queens, New York, Robert was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elsie Borchers and sister Lorraine Neir.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy for twenty-seven years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He worked ten years for Norwich Public Utility before retiring to the Granite State to "live tax-free."
He is survived by his loving wife Rose; son Robert A. Borchers and wife Lisa; grandchildren William and Grace; son Michael M. Borchers and wife Catherine; grandson Max; a niece and nephew.
He enjoyed volunteering for First Church of Christ, Congregational and the Vaughan Food Pantry in North Conway. His passion was cooking, grilling, baking pies (with his special homemade crust), and his hobbies were cutting and splitting wood, cross-country skiing, bicycling, traveling, and snowmobiling. He loved making his home warm by using the fireplace. His favorite weekly breakfast stop was Banners Restaurant in North Conway and while under the care of Hospice he freely and liberally shared his conservative values.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Carroll County or Tunnels to Towers Foundation. A private celebration of life gathering will be held in the future.
