Robert B. Capuano

Salem, NH - Robert "Bob" Capuano, age 77, born on November 17, 1946, passed away at All American Assisted Living of Londonderry on August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family after coping with Alzheimer's Disease for several years.

Born and raised in Everett, MA, he was the son of the late John and Elena Capuano. He attended Everett schools, graduated from Everett High School in 1964, and graduated from the Barber School of Boston in 1965. He proudly enlisted in the US Navy as a barber from 1965 through 1968. He served on two aircraft carriers, the USS Enterprise and the USS Oriskany. He was recognized as a proficient barber and was the barber for officers and pilots aboard both carriers. Bob also cut Senator John McCain's hair and admired him.

After serving during the Vietnam Conflict, Bob worked at Polaroid in Waltham, MA, for over 35 years as a Crew Chief and a Manufacturing Systems Specialist.

He married Dale Mingo in 1976. During the 48 years of their marriage they enjoyed several trips to Europe, Canada, the Canadian Rockies, and various states in this country. Bob enjoyed cooking, gardening, birdwatching, reading, and he enjoyed visiting beaches, mountains, and lighthouses. Bob was an exceptional cook, could fix or build things, and he usually could figure out how to do anything he wanted around the house or yard, as well as automotive work.

His life centered around his family. Bob was very proud of his wife and his two sons. He could be very funny, quite stubborn, and he displayed a feisty spirit. He will be deeply missed, loved and remembered. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace now. The family would like to recognize John Chianis, of Idaho, Bob's life-long friend from the Navy. They shared many good times together and stayed in contact with each other throughout Bob's life. Also, the family would like to thank and recognize the staff at All American Assisted Living of Londonderry and Brookhaven Hospice of Windham for all of their kindness, help, and compassion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dale, his son, Mark Capuano and his wife, Danielle (Cavazzini) Capuano, of Astoria, NY; his son, James Capuano, his sister, Ellen (Capuano) Hogan, her husband, Richard Hogan, of Bellingham, MA; and their sons, Jeffrey Hogan and wife, Janine Hogan, of Grafton, MA; and Scott Hogan and his wife, Jennifer Hogan, of Sutton, MA; an aunt, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
