Robert “Bob” Dennis passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester, NH.
Born on August 6, 1938, in Manchester, NH, Bob was the middle of three sons born to Charles and Ernistine Dennis. After graduating from Manchester Central High School in 1956, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, working at Grenier Air Force Base.
Bob was deeply committed to his community and had a passion for public service. He served as Alderman for Ward 6 from 1990 to 1993. His dedication to improving the lives of others was evident in everything he did.
Above all, Bob’s greatest passion was his family. He met the love of his life, Nancy, at a dance at Baboosic Lake, and the two were married on July 7, 1962, in a small, heartfelt ceremony in his parents’ backyard. Together, they built a life in Manchester, raising their two daughters and son.
Bob spent much of his life caring for others, including his brothers, Charlie and Ronald. He leaves behind a legacy defined by generosity of his time, his resources, and his love. He gave freely and selflessly, never seeking recognition or thanks, simply because it was who he was.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Baker and her husband, Rob, Kerry Dennis and her husband, Rob Guzas; and his son, Robert Dennis and his wife, Michelle. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Lee Baker, Alycia Baker, Jennifer Lawrence, Cameron Willett, Gabrielle Willett, and Aidan Dennis; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Brooke, Caleb, Piper and Madalynne Faith. He is also remembered by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Dennis; his parents, Charles and Ernestine Dennis; and his brothers, Charles and Ronald.
Bob will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his quiet strength, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the generosity he shared so freely. “To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die.”
Although Nancy passed in 2020 during the height of COVID, the family was never able to hold a Celebration of Life in her honor. It would be Bob’s greatest wish that they now be celebrated together, reunited in heaven, together for eternity, just as they were throughout their life on earth.
SERVICES: A joint Celebration of Life for Bob and Nancy will be held on June 6, 2026. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St., in Manchester, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, in Manchester. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Auburn Village Cemetery, Eaton Hill Road, Auburn, NH.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause deeply meaningful to their family. http://act.alz.org/goto/Bob_Dennis
