Robert G. Frizzell, 80, of 11 Tampa Street in Nashua died Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Frizzell was born on May 30, 1922 in Columbia, NH son of the late Homer and Ethel (Jordan) Frizzell. He was the husband of Lorraine (Millette) Frizzell and would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary September 21st. In 1940 he graduated from Canaan High School in Canaan, VT. He was a U S Navy veteran and served his country for 4 years. During World War II he was an Aviation Ordinance Man and received commendation to include: Victory Medal, American Area, Asiatic- Pacific Area, Good Conduct, and Navy Unit Commendation. After serving in the military he worked for Pennichuck Water Works where he worked for 29 years. Bob was a Charter Member of the American Legion Northland Post #47. He devoted 50 years of service to the Masons Grand Lodge of Vermont. He was a member of the Nashua Senior Center and Chairman of the Cribbage League. He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed the sport for over 70 years. For the past two years he had volunteered his time to the Nashua Salvation Army. He and his wife enjoyed annual summer trips with the Salvation Army to Sebago Lake. Mr. Frizzell loved to fix things as projects like small clocks, watches, lawnmowers, toys and bicycles; anything to keep busy. His favorite team was the Boston Red Sox. He also loved to watch Candlepin bowling on Saturdays. Besides his wife, survivors include; a son, Dale Frizzell and his companion Gail Mahoney of North Haverhill; two daughters, Debbie and her husband Robert Trow of Nashua and Sherri and husband Dick Swindler of Brunswick, Maine; seven grandchildren, Susan and Tara Frizzell of Seymore, CT, Kristine Baron of Hudson, Barry Braswell of Nashua, Amanda and Jake Swindler of Brunswick, Maine, and Amy Haven of Nashua; one great granddaughter, Nicole. There will be a Memorial Reception on Monday, September 16th from 10:30 until 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Chapel, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Major Carl E. Carvill from the Salvation Army of Nashua will be officiating. Burial will take place at the NH State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert's name to the Salvation Army, 1 Montgomery Avenue, Nashua, NH 03060.
