Raymond, NH
Robert "Red" Greenier, 83 years young, sailed away to greater fishing in Heaven on February 15, 2019
His family was by his side when he crossed over to be with loved ones waiting there for him.
In addition to his parents, Ella and Edward Greenier, he was pre-deceased by his wife, Donna "Starr," sons, Tod and Robert of Texas, brothers, Franklin, Richard, Edward, Charlie, sister Freda Murphy and grandson, baby Robert.
Left back on shore, Red is survived by daughters: Carla (Michael) Navelski, Gayna (Bill) Ballard, Kimberly (finance Ken Eastman) and son, Robert all of NH, sister, Marge (Richard) Evens of FL, a boatload of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and pails of fishing pals and buddies. "He loved you all."
He was born in Fort Fairfield, ME on October 3, 1935 and was raised in God's Country of Aroostook County where he became an avid fisherman.
If there was water, he'd drop a line. Red could out-fish the best of them, driving his boat as fast as possible from one spot to another. He had many fishing stories. The more they were told, the bigger the fish got.
Red served in the USAF where he met and married 'the catch of his life,' Donna Louise Shea.
They anchored down in Newington, NH where they spawned five children.
Red and Starr moved to Nashville where he helped build the "New Grand Ole Opry."
Together they made Grammar Guitars.
Starr sang country and gospel music for 30 years. Red was the band set-up man.
They were married for 54 years. They moved forth and back from the East Coast as he was a truck driver for a moving company. He was also a heavy equipment operator with Local 4, and a member of the American Legion Post 51 where he enjoyed playing pool.
An all-around fix-it guy, with a roll of duct tape and a Craftsman wrench there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. Even if it was half-assed, he'd say: "Good enough, let's go!"
After retirement they moved to Venice, FL where he was the "Captain" of Sharky's Pier.
When he wasn't on the water you'd find him on the dock helping teach anyone his favorite pastime, fishing.
A military graveside service will be held Saturday April 13th at 10:30am in Newington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Red's memory may be made to: (on Facebook) Walter Burns Fishing Day. Online condolences at: www.csnh.com
