Robert "Bob" Royce Huntley

June 21, 1949 – August 13, 2026

Robert "Bob" Royce Huntley, 77, of Nashua, NH, passed away on August 13th, 2026.

He was born June 21st, 1949, in Ohio, to his parents, the late Royce Everett and Jeraleen Vera Huntley. A true Phoenix native at heart, Bob grew up in Phoenix, NY, graduated from Phoenix High School, and was the eldest brother to Carroll (Diana) Huntley and Richard Huntley.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Bob served honorably for over a decade, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant as a Radio Relay Equipment Technician. He looked back on his military service with great fondness. Known for his adventurous and spontaneous spirit, Bob was an enthusiastic world traveler who loved embarking on cruises and journeys across the globe, always keeping his camera in hand to capture the wonders of the world as he explored them. Along the way, he took immense joy in good food, with a special weakness for local diner pies and simple regional favorites like birch beer, maple syrup candies, and nostalgic birch chewing gum.

Following his military career, his sharp technical mind transitioned into designing printed circuit boards for various companies, including Welch Allyn, where he held domestic and international patents for innovative medical diagnostic video imaging instruments (U.S. Patents 5,527,261 and 5,662,586).

Bob was a man who truly loved "shooting" in many different ways. A dedicated firearms enthusiast, he found great joy in range shooting and was always eager to share his knowledge, patiently mentoring others in marksmanship and firearms safety. That same enthusiasm for teaching extended to his lifelong passion for photography. Bob spent much of his life behind the lens, capturing vibrant scenes from his travels around the world as well as the beauty of New England in a collection titled “Indifferent Colors.” Whether at the range, framing a new horizon, or capturing a quiet landscape, he was happiest when sharing his craft and perspective with others.

Bob is survived by his previous wives, Anna (Dennis) Rakonza and Carol Huntley (Dave); his children, Molly (James) Lamson, Debbie (Nathan) Crawford, Diane (David) Black, Raymond (Theresa) Huntley, Todd Kelso, and Ken (Courtney) Huntley, along with many cherished grandchildren, extended family members, and friends whom he cared for deeply.

Services and burial will take place in Phoenix, NY, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a youth arts or photography program to inspire the next generation of creative storytellers, or to a charity of one's choice in Bob's memory.
