Robert Wilson Jordan, 76, of 40 Staniels Road, Chichester, NH died on April 4, 2000 at Epsom Manor after a short illness. Mr. Jordan was born on February 7, 1924 in Manchester, NH the son of the late Frank Nelson and Eliza (Crowe) Jordan. He served our county for over 29 years being part of three separate branches of the military. He was a U S Navy Veteran who served in W W II and received the Silver Star for gallantry in action. He was part of the Pacific Theatre and was awarded a Victory Medal and American Defense Medal and was recognized for other outstanding feats. He was in the U S Army during the Korean War and was part of the NG Unit. He was also in the Army National Guard where he attained the highest enlisted rank in the NH , the Commander Sergeant Major. Mr. Jordan was past president of NH Sheep Breeders Association, a member of the American Legion in Concord Post 21, member of the Pehaugun Men's Club in Chichester and 4H Leader for 9 years in Chichester. He worked as a leather toggler for Brezner Tannery in Penacook for 20 years and at Havenwood Heritage Heights for 20 years as head of the maintenance department. After retirement he worked part time for South Congregational Church in Concord for 4 years.. Family members include; his wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Colby) Jordan; one son, Jeffrey Jordan of Chichester; three grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Jordan of Concord. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy J. Jones. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2000 at 11:00 AM at Chichester United Methodist Church, Main Street, Chichester.
