Webster- Robert T. “Bob” Lake, 81 of Webster passed away at his home of forty years on Pearson Hill Road Monday March 21, 2022.
Born in North Reading Massachusetts, Bob was the son of Hedley Hadlock Lake and Edith Pearl Barrett of Newfoundland. He was the youngest of seven children.
Bob was a talented builder by trade. Starting as a teenager installing siding with his father and brothers, he always pushed himself to do more. Learning and building many homes he evolved to become well renowned for building Barns and Riding arena’s. He owned and operated RT Lake Inc. (Est. 1967) as a General Contractor. From the ground up, there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t accomplish. Stonework, masonry, excavation, and building are but a few of the areas he mastered! In 1987 he added a Septic Service to his repertoire.
He enjoyed being involved in the Webster Community throughout the years. He served part-time on the Webster Police Department in the 70’s. In addition, Bob served over 20
years on the Webster Fire Department holding the title of Deputy Chief by 1990. He was elected the town road agent from 1991-1996.
Bob loved to give and do for others, such examples include donating the stage in the Webster Town Hall after completing the construction of tying in the town offices, library and grange hall, donating the tennis courts for Webster Elementary in the 70’s, and work at the Pillsbury Lake Damn area. He was a social bug, loved dancing, drumming, sailing, telling jokes, dogs and often reflected on cherished memories hunting with the Pearsons when he was younger.
In addition to his wife Sally Lynn (Allen) Lake- married December 26, 1958, Bob is survived by his eldest sibling and sister Ann Lake (of Ocala, FL), daughter Sarah Austin, his two sons, Robert T. Lake Jr. (Tom) and Eric Lake. Grandchildren - Emily Lake, Althea Beck, Tyler Lake, Jennifer Lake, James Beck, Adam Beck, Connar Lake and Dillon Lake. Great Grandchildren- Adrian Charles Beck and Charles Patrick Beck.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Webster Congregational Church, 1011 Long St. Webster, NH 03303. Reception to follow at the Webster Town Hall.
