Robert L. "Toby" Noel 86, of Pratt Homes, 583 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH, died suddenly Thursday September 11, 2003. Mr. Noel was born in Nashua on March 18, 1917, the son of Alfred and Elma (Boutin) Noel. He was predeceased by his first wife Lillian (Deery) Noel, two brothers, Leo and Edward "Woody" Noel, and a sister Lillian Noel O'Meara, all of Nashua. Mr. Noel was a World War II Army Veteran. After the war he became an officer on the Nashua Police Department from 1945 through 1955. He then went to work in the janitorial field for the Nashua School Department. After his retirement, Mr. Noel worked part-time for his nephew at Chicken and Chips. Mr. Noel was a graduate of Nashua High School. He was an avid skier and bicyclist. He also played on a seniors hockey league. Survivors include his present wife of 31 years, Lillian (Niquette) Noel; a son, Charles R. Noel of Bristol; a stepson Ronald H. Marois of Nashua; a brother and sister in-law, Norman and Theresa Noel of Nashua; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Deery and Rita Noel of Nashua; six step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service with military honors will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 71 Derry Road in Hudson at 11:00 am Wednesday September 17th, 2003. Relative's and friend's are invited to attend.
