Robert (Bob) Edwin Ramalho, 81, a resident of Litchfield NH passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Marsha L. (Southworth) Ramalho with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Bob was born on July 30, 1939 in Lowell, MA to the late Frank and Gladys (Miller) Ramalho. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division earning his Parachute Badge. He also served in Korea in 1960.
Prior to retirement, Bob owned an oil business for a number of years, designed, built and sold quite a few homes and represented Merrimack Valley Wood Products selling millwork. His favorite place was the outdoors and there was nothing he appreciated more than a spectacular view. He would bike for miles (especially in Florida) just to take in the beautiful scenery. Bob enjoyed canoeing down the Suncook River and spending hours landscaping his yard, transforming it into a peaceful oasis where he would spend time with his family. And if anyone knew Bob, they would know of his passion for cars. You could always find him scouring his favorite auto magazine searching for his next classic car. However, what Bob was known for above anything else, was his kind and compassionate spirit.
Bob is survived and will be deeply missed by his sons Robert F. Ramalho and his wife Deborah, Scott E. Ramalho and his wife, Shirley, of Manchester, NH; his stepdaughter Stacy Gilmore and her husband Daniel of Groton, MA; his 12 grandchildren, Lindsey Carter and her husband Justin, Alyssa Ramalho, Robert Ramalho, Nicholas Ramalho, Jeremy Ramalho and his wife Janelle, Courtney Ramalho, Caroline Gilmore, Regan Gilmore, Sydney Gilmore, Alexandra West, Harrison West and Cameron West; 8 great grandchildren, and his sister Nancy DeCarolis.
He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Karen L. Reed and his sister Jean Robarge.
Friends and family are welcome at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303 on Tuesday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Bob's name.
