Robert H. West, Jr., 71, of Concord passed away with his wife by his side on January 12, 2017.
He was born on September 22, 1945 in San Francisco, California. The son of the late Robert West, Sr. and Ellen C. West. Bob was raised in Chichester and was a graduate of Concord Senior High School. He attended NHTI, St. Anselm's College and Babson Institute. He served proudly in the United States Navy, a Vietnam Vet, serving with the Seal team in Binh Thuey, Mekong Delta, Vietnam. He worked in law Enforcement for 10 years, obtaining the rank of Lt. with the Concord Police Department and worked in many automobile dealerships as a sales/F&I manager.
He leaves behind his wife, Dawn West (Page) of 30 years and daughters, Elisabeth West and Jill Ostapchuk and her husband Tobias, both of Connecticut, Jennifer McDonnell of Epsom who kept Bob always on his toes, and her almost husband Michael Albert, his sister Catherine Barney of Concord and several nieces and nephews. Bob and Dawn spent many years camping at Totem Pole Park sitting by the campfires, telling stories and enjoying jokes. He loved playing golf. He served on several Concord Hospital committees specifically enjoying their annual Golf Tournament to raise funds. There will be no calling hours. The family has chosen a private ceremony at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bob's memory to the Concord Hospital Trust Annual Golf Tournament. This event regularly supports cardiac care at Concord Hospital. Donations can be sent to Concord Hospital at 250 Pleasant Street or made online at ch-trust.org.
