Robert Earl Winfrey, known affectionately as Bob, Bobby, or Bama, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Manchester, NH at the age of 69. Born on December 28, 1954, in Helena, AL.
He attended school in Alabama, later moved to Miami, FL then eventually to Manchester, NH. He spent his life working as a mechanic and worked on everything from lawn tractors to loaders. He owned and worked at many shops in both NH and AL. In his free time you'd find him playing his guitar and singing to anyone he could. He loved the NE Patriots and Boston Celtics but was a diehard Alabama Football fan; Saturdays were for football.
He is survived by his two daughters, Christina Browne and Heather Winfrey. He was a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren, Ashley (Voisine) and her husband, Joshua St. Jean, Curtis Bayne, Anthony Bayne, Alexis Bayne, Joseph Browne, and Nelvin Bayne, as well as a proud great-grandfather to Amiya, Isiah Jr., Arrion, Adalyn, Anari, and Annslee. His wife Dawn (Chase) Winfrey. His two brothers, Ronald and Patsy Winfrey of Jasper, AL, Randy and Laura Winfrey of Manchester, NH. Three sisters, Donna Swanson of Bow, NH, Deborah and Ralph Perrotti of Wallingford, CT and Daffney Simms of Cullman, AL. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His family was the centerpiece of his life, and he loved them deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Clifton and Clemmer Jean Winfrey, and his brother, Roman Winfrey all from Alabama.
A celebration of Bob's life is planned for a future date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and legacy. His life was marked by his free spirit, generosity, and the joy he brought to his family and all who knew him.
