Robert Y. Vachon, 80 of Manchester and Clearwater Fl. passed away on January 23, 2025, in Clearwater after a courageous battle with numerous types of cancer.
Born in Quebec City Canada on November 18, 1944. Robert was the son of Patrick and Leontine Vachon. He was educated in the Manchester school system and graduated high school from Ste. Marie.
After high school Robert joined the United States Air Force, and he always remained proud to be a veteran. After the service, Robert began a career managing Drive-in-theaters.
Robert eventually moved to Hawaii and was working for Goodwill Industries, until he retired and moved back to Manchester. He became a snowbird spending the winters in Clearwater FL. and summers in Manchester.
Robert was a man of deep faith, praying the rosary on a daily basis and belonging to the rosary group at St. Michael's Church in Clearwater, FL. Here in Manchester, he belonged to the League of 1000 Men at the Precious Blood Monastery
Robert also enjoyed traveling and wanted to see as much of the United States as possible. He loved spending time at the ocean where he could swim and body surf.
Members of his family include siblings, Guy Vachon and his wife, Sylvia of Nevada, Claude Vachon and his favorite sister, Priscilla Vachon both of Manchester, NH. Many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, his younger brother, Richard, and his sister-in-law, Linda Vachon. While in Hawaii, Robert made many good friends, especially Greg and Johanna Goya. Robert will be missed by many and remembered for always trying to make you smile.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025,10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 265 S. Main Street, in Manchester, NH. Military honors will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH.
