Roberta Ethel Langwasser of Contoocook passed away peacefully Saturday, July 2, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Berta, as she was lovingly known by friends and family, was born in Laconia on June 2, 1938, the daughter of Robert Sanborn and Ethel Sanborn Martin.

She graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1957. Following graduation she worked at the Kresge Department Store in Concord, Merrimack County Registry of Deeds and finally retired from Osram Sylvania. Berta was of Native American Heritage, a member of Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and attended pow wows. She had great respect for and belief in the Indian culture. Berta was a supporter of the St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota and a Shriners Lady at Bektash of Concord.

She is survived by her husband George Langwasser of Contoocook, sister Susie Reid and husband Roger of Hopkinton, daughter Debbie Moody and her companion Gary Young of Warner, son Darrin Moody and wife Penny Courser of Warner, son David Moody of Concord, stepdaughter Heidi Langwasser Tzizik and husband Daniel of Lee, an Aunt Patricia Edwards and husband Eugene of Hillsboro, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Committal Celebration of Life will be private for the family at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. There will be a forthcoming gathering to be noticed for the family to meet and greet friends, neighbors and supporters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberta's name to the Saint Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, South Dakota 57326.
