Robin Gray, 60, of Gilmanton Iron Works passed to heaven December 18th at the Concord VNA Hospice House. She was lovingly supported by her husband, family members and special friends throughout every stage of a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robin was born and grew up in Jersey City, NJ. She moved to NH in 1979 to enjoy "country life" and pursue her professional career as a Registered Nurse. Orphaned at a young age, Robin's determination and strong work ethic enabled her to support herself while earning a nursing degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, graduating in 1988. She worked in a wide variety of nursing venues, finishing her challenging career as a pediatric nurse. Robin was well respected as being an exemplary advocate for all her patients, always willing to go the extra mile in their best interests. She appreciated everything about nature and was an ardent lover of all animals. Her hobbies included vintage dolls, miniature doll houses, and hunting and fishing with husband, Jeff, who she married in 2003. Robin was an extremely giving person, always putting others before herself. She was a strong advocate for the "underdog" or those less fortunate, and well known for her honesty and compassion. Robin was predeceased by her parents, Arend and Genevieve, a sister, Johanna, and two brothers Arend and Martin. She is survived by her husband, Jeff, three sisters, Rose Mary, Jean, and Gloria, brother-in-law John, mother-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Leland, sister-in-law Margo, and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of formal services, Robin's preference would be for family and friends to spend reflective time in the outdoors enjoying all of Mother Nature's beauty. Donations in Robin's memory may be made to the NH Fish and Game Department's "Becoming An Outdoor Woman" Program http://www.nhbow.com/, the Concord VNA Hospice House or the Cancer Research Organization of your choice.
