Rod LaLanne, 72, lifelong resident of Manchester, died peacefully with family and friends by his side on July 7, 2025, after a long period of declining health.
He was born in Sanford, Maine, to Robert and Florence (Morin) LaLanne on July 25, 1952.
Rod worked as a Field ServiceTechnician for most of his career, and retired from a job which he loved at Keurig, Inc. He also enjoyed working on cars, playing pool, and was a member of The Alpine Club for many years. His most enjoyable time was spending time with family and friends, and his sweet kitty cat, Miss Molly.
Rod had been ill with numerous health issues for several years, but rarely complained, and never wanted to be a burden to his loved ones. Rod was a kind man, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will surely be missed by everyone in his life.
Rod was predeceased by his parents, his beloved son, Robbie in 1996, his brother, Bobby LaLanne, sister-in-law, Donna, of Atlantic Beach, Florida, his brother Gordon LaLanne, sister-in-law, Claire, of Manchester, NH and his nephews, Shawn,Troy, and Danny.
Family members include his wife of 52 years, Jackie (Girouard) LaLanne, who was always by his side and was the true example of caring for your spouse through sickness and in health, his treasured grandson, Brendan, and his precious great grandchildren, Amiah and Brayson, all of Manchester. Rod and Jackie had a close relationship with Rod’s brother Gordon and wife Claire, and after Gordon and Claire's passing, Rod and Jackie remained close to their daughters Christine, Pauline, Denise and their families.
After their marriage in 1973, Jackie’s family soon became Rod’s family and were always there for Jackie and Rod over the years. They include Pauline and Leo Duhamel and family of Manchester, Terry Thompson and family of Wisconsin, and Jeannine and Stan Drewniak and family of Manchester.
We would also like to acknowledge his lifelong friends, Dan Jackman, and the members of the Healy, Santos, Schunemann, Styles and Logan families, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews on both sides of his family, who are already feeling his void.
For all of us who are left behind that knew Rod, we find comfort that he is no longer in pain and is reunited with his son, parents, and all the loved ones who went before him.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on August 16th, 2025 at 2:00 at The Alpine Club. Please join us and bring a story or two you would like to share with everyone about Rod.
