Ronald F. (aka Aldo) Musto, born, September 7, 1934, at the old Mary Alley Hospital on Franklin Street, Marblehead, Ma., passed away December 19, 2024 at the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brentwood, NH. He was the son of Samuel Russell Musto and Margaret Knight Musto. He considered himself as a true ‘Header’. Aldo was extremely proud of his heritage and spent hours tracing his roots back to Robert de la Ronde’ (now known as Roundy) and Louis Russell, French Huguenots who arrived in Marblehead in 1640 and 1717, respectively. His grandfather, Michael Archangelo Musto, arrived in Marblehead from Italy in 1895.
Graduating from Marblehead High School in 1952 and U. Mass Amherst in 1956, he then served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant tank platoon leader. His career path led him to teaching English, editing textbooks and business publications, and he also spent time in Saudia Arabia writing curriculum guidelines and lesson plans for a Saudi technical college.
Aldo retired to Florida in 1989 and became a tournament bridge player, ending as a Bronze Life Master. His love of travel led him to over 25 countries. He had a passion for old-time movies and television shows and kept lists of actors/actress’s details. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots fan. And in all these passions, he easily won many a trivia contest.
Aldo is predeceased by his parents, sister, Margaret Blais (Danvers), and a son (James Musto) and grandson Brandon (both from Colorado). He is survived by three daughters and a son: Marylou Moura, John Musto (Kim), Donna Roe (Carl Hindy) and Annemarie Remington (Todd), as well as 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
SERVICES: He will be interred at Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead, in a private family event, at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in his name, please consider St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
