Ronald E. Dennis

Ronald E. Dennis, 78, of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 27th after a period of declining health.

Ronald was born on June 19, 1944, to Charles E. and Ernestine (Haselton) Dennis. At an early age, Ronnie and was diagnosed with autism and profound developmental disabilities, upon his diagnosis his Mom and Dad made the uncommon decision at the time to raise Ronnie in his family home lovingly cared for by them. It was his mother’s final wish before her death in 1990, that Ronnie remain in his home for the remainder of his life.  At that time his brother Bob promised his mother, that Ronnie would live out the rest of his life in the family home.  On August 27th, Ronnie went to bed in this own bed, in the house he lived in his whole life and passed away peacefully to be with his family who passed before him. Promises kept.

There are so many people that made this wish possible. Thank you to the Moore Center for working with Bob to develop a program to meet the unique needs of Ronald over the years. A special thank you to Diane Martinez and Erika Nichols for their unwavering commitment in working with the family over the years on Ronnie’s behalf.

Finally, thank you to all the caregivers over the last 30 years that have allowed Ronnie to remain at home. It is with a tremendous amount of love and gratitude for the care they have given; Heather Rice, Karen Procacini, Susan Brandano, Alycia Cayes and Natalie Vanderbilt. Ronnie was blessed with this amazing caregiver family who worked seamlessly and lovingly together for his benefit.

Ronnie was known for his beautiful blue eyes, and sweet disposition. He enjoyed his daily rides and helping with chores around the house. He loved his old westerns and was affectionately called their cowboy.

He is survived by his brother, Robert H. Dennis III. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Charles Dennis and his wife Charlotte, and Robert’s wife Nancy.
