Captain Ronald S. Keller earned his final set of wings Thanksgiving weekend, 2022, thankfully not due to his wife's Black Friday spending spree. He was living at a memory care home in Maryland and was about to celebrate his birthday, but apparently felt he was "old enough."
Surviving him are his brother, two daughters, and two grandsons.
Ron was a central Jersey boy who also loved lake life up in New England. Fondly known as Chick, Captain, ButterCup, and PapaRon, Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His two loves were flying and his ladies. He was an animal lover and a party animal. He was able to entertain his dream of being a vet after his retirement, on Fox Folly Farm, which was home to a couple of Irish Draft horses and some unique two- and four-footed misfit friends.
Ron proudly served in the US Air Force and went on to pilot for years at Jet Aviation. His passion for flying was admirable and inspiring. He travelled the world and was a supportive, grounded family man, who was excited to share his personal experiences as well as create special memories through shared adventures. He had two smart, strong, beautiful wives he loved wholeheartedly who both passed away too young due to cancer. Despite his losses, he always kept a fun sense of humor and was a great storyteller, which he shared with his friends, brother-in-law, daughters, stepdaughters, granddaughters, and finally, grandsons.
We will miss him every day but keep him with us always. We are most thankful for our good times together.
Ron and his family would greatly appreciate donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394 or online or the National Fragile X Foundation, 1012 14th Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005 or online in his memory.
