Ronald Joseph Suslowicz, age 81, died on October 24, 2024, at Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, NH. He was born on November 23, 1942, in McKees Rocks, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Stella Suslowicz. He was the husband of Florence (Fogarty) Suslowicz. They were married on July 17, 1965, in McKees Rocks, PA.
Ronald graduated from Miles Bryan High School "McKees Rocks" in 1960. Out of High School, he got his first job working with computers at Dravo Corp on Neville Island. This would start him on a lifelong love of computer technology. At night he attended classes at the University of Pittsburgh where he received an Associate’s degree. In his spare time, he worked as a freelance photographer, which became another of his passions. He took pictures at proms, weddings, and for private individuals. He could always be seen behind a camera taking pictures to capture the moments and memories of family gatherings. For someone who had a fear of heights, he loved to fly and had the opportunity to do so through his employment at Allegheny Airlines in 1973. The job took him to Dale City, VA in 1974 where he moved with his wife and three daughters. He stayed with the company when it became US Airways then ultimately American Airlines. He retired from the company in 2001.
Ron held various positions on the board of the local chapter of the World Airlines Club Association (WACA) and was even awarded WACA Member Club Newsletter of the Year in 1996 for his work as the writer/editor of their Washington Interline Club newsletter. He loved computers, movies, and music. One might catch him in the recliner with his headphones on listening to reel to reel tapes of his 1950s and 1960s mixes or eating popcorn while watching a movie.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his brother, Joseph L. Suslowicz and his sister, Sandra Suslowicz.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, his daughters Cheryl and her husband Jerry Moriarty, Debbie and her husband Jim Adkins, and Susan and her husband John Wakelin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Erin and JJ Moriarty and Devon and Logan Wakelin, brothers, Robert Suslowicz and Father Michael Suslowicz and his cousin Angela Mysliwiec.
