Ronald E Wallace

Ronald Evan Wallace, 90, of Hopkinton passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Forrest City, Arkansas where he had moved just two weeks prior. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Ron was born in Whitefield, NH, son of Earl N. Wallace and Verna F. Macomber. When he was a teenager, Ron moved with his family to Concord, NH. He went on the serve his country as a member of the United States Navy. His service in the Armed Guard during WW2 on the USS JOHN CROPPER brought him around the world missing only one port. His service to his community did not end when he returned home. He was willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He volunteered through his membership in the Elks, serving in the church, in his community through local politics and most of all with the loyalty and generosity of spirit that he gave in shaping his family.
After retiring from Wilbur's Hardware Store, he went on to enjoy a full and exciting retirement with his new bride, Ann Prescott Cailler Wallace. Reacquainted after knowing each other in their teen years, Ron and Ann had 30 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed partaking in the care of their grandchildren, dancing, travelling and living life to the fullest.

In loving memory we as a family will remember Ron's compassion, love and gentle manner. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Mitchell Wallace and his second wife, Ann Prescott Cailler Wallace, step-son Douglas J. Cailler, and siblings William E. Wallace, Milton L. Wallace, and Marjorie A. Wallace. He is survived by his step-daughter Lee Ann Currier and son-in-law Jeffrey Currier. Also his grandchildren, Zachary J. Cailler, Wendy L. Cailler Dinnean and her husband Kevin Dinnean, Lindsay A. Norling, Joseph J. Cailler, Katie M. Cailler and wife Lisa Cailler, and great grandchildren, Nathan Cailler, Gage Cailler, Charlotte Cailler Dinnean and Caroline Cailler Dinnean.

Services will be held in the fall with notice provided via the Concord Monitor Obituaries at that time. The Cremation Society of NH is assisting with arrangements.
