Rosalie
Rand
Dec 31, 1941 — Jul 1, 2026
Our beloved mother Rosalie Olive Rand, 84, daughter of the late James Francis Walsh and Martha Rose (Moonoogian) Walsh of Haverhill, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly into eternal life at Catholic Medical Center on July 1st, 2026 to be by faith, with her lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Rosalie was born on December 31st, 1941, and welcomed, by a loving American Irish Armenian family. She grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts attending Haverhill public schools, eventually residing at Chapel Hill, an all girls college preparatory boarding school in Waltham, Mass until she graduated in 1959. Rosalie's childhood was filled with kindness, laughter and love. She was involved in activities such as Brownie Troop, studied piano, speech (Elocution) and drama, performed back yard shows to benefit those less fortunate, participated in Armenian traditional dance at St. Gregory's Apostolic Church, Haverhill Mass. to name a few.
Having grown up in a close-knit community of diversity, Rosalie embraced this blessing, making friends with whomever she met. She spent her days surrounded by close grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all whom she loved dearly. She cherished her siblings; a sister Marion (Peg) Walsh Rowell of Waterville and Camden, Maine, a brother Edward J. Walsh of Westford, Mass, and a sister Catherine Walsh of Cambridge, Mass, all pre-deceased and was very proud of their accomplishments.
Rosalie fully appreciated her American nationality and valued living in a free society and cherished her father's Irish and mother's Armenian ethnicities that were woven into her daily life as she grew up. Upon her completion of high school, she graduated from McIntosh Business College and then married in 1961, her late husband, musician drum/percussionist Ronald J. Rand on July 20, 1961, whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Rosalie raised two children, Ronald and Ronda, becoming a homemaker until she began her own cleaning business for a population of diverse prominent families in Haverhill, Mass. She enjoyed this work and appreciated their friendship and many prepared various foods for her when she worked. Whether it be, to name a few, Polish, Greek, Tai, or Jewish she enjoyed them all.
Later, Rosalie obtained her CNA License and worked as a certified nurse aid in Massachusetts. Having bi-lateral hearing loss since birth, Rosalie also acquired a mental disability in mid-life that would redefine her life until her death. She endured by placing her faith in a greater power than her own, that of Jesus Christ and the intercession of the Blessed Mother. She dedicated herself to prayer and the rosary and the devotional of the Divine Mercy of Sister Faustina Kowalska. Throughout her disability, she was a communicant of Saint Joseph Cathedral, Manchester, NH until she moved to a managed care home; HCNH, where she is eternally grateful to those nursing staff who gave unconditional care.
Rosalie leaves behind her children, a son Ronald Rand, and a daughter Ronda Gibeau and son-in-law Joseph Gibeau of Auburn NH. She also leaves behind in prayer her grandchildren Elizabeth, R.J., Olivia, Maria, and Brianna, and great grandchildren Wesley and Piper as well as several dear cousins, nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life.
“In one word, mother means love, “Love Never Fails” and endures through all space and time. Everlastingly grateful to you dear mother Rosalie for your enduring unconditional love.” Your Son and Daughter
