Russell M. Colbert, 81, of Bow, NH and Wellfleet, MA, formerly of Auburn, MA died on May 28, 2000 in Concord after a lengthy illness. Mr. Colbert was born and raised in East Providence, RI and Boston, MA. He attended North High in Worcester and Northeastern University in Boston. He retired in 1983 as Vice President of Facilities at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and made his home in NH and Massachusetts. He coached ice hockey and baseball for the youth of Auburn. As a 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of the Joel H. Prouty Masonic Lodge as well as the Scottish Rite of Worcester. He served the town of Auburn for many years as a town representative. He was a Naval Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict serving as a Chief Electrician's Mate. He was an American Legion Lifelong member. Mr. Colbert had a lifelong love of construction engineering and built several of his homes. His varied interests included boating, licensed navigation, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves his wife, Bernice ''Bunny'' Sandstrom Colbert of Bow and Wellfleet as well as three children; Judith Colbert Long of Bonita Springs, Florida, Maureen P. Colbert of Bristol, CT and Michael R. Colbert of Bow, NH. His extended family includes six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
