Russell T. McCormack passed away at Lowell General Hospital, on June 2, 2022 after a long illness. He was 56 years old. Russell was proudly born and raised in Lowell, MA, and lived in Lowell for most of his life. He was a graduate of Raymond High School in Raymond, NH.
As a boy, Russell participated in boy scouts and happily recalled playing little league baseball. As an adult, Russell trained and worked in the trades as a carpenter, roofer, millwright and machinist until successive injuries forced him into early retirement. He was a member of Manchester Union Local 349.
The joys in Russell’s life were his family, fishing, Nascar racing, bike week in Laconia and music. He was happiest being with his grandson, Camden, fishing (he held a record for freshwater trout) and playing the drums, especially for a crowd. Russell played drums with local bands around Lowell for many years. He played successive seasons for Nightmare New England.
Russell had a big heart and was a friend to all who knew him. He had a large following on social media and loved sharing in other people’s joys and happiness. Russell was a very giving soul and would give you his last dollar if you said you needed it. He never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special day.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Russell’s best friend, Dave Piscoppo, of Salem, NH, who stood by him for many years.
Russell is predeceased by his dear mother, Irene J. (Guilmette) Williams, and his brother, Richard A. McCormack. He leaves behind his father, Donald A. McCormack, and step mom, Anne-Marie, of Derry, NH; the apple of his eye his daughter Julie Reith and her husband, Bruce, of Manchester, NH; his step daughter, Alanna Borges of Salem, NH; his sisters, Lisa Whiteneck and her husband, James, of Derry, NH; Donna McCormack of Covington, GA; his grandchildren, Camden Calderaro, Evan Reith, Sofiah Aquino, and Syeelah Gomez; Aunts and Uncles, Dennis and Nancy McCormack of Bradenton, FL, Douglas McCormack of Farmington, NH; step brothers, Robert Therrien and his wife, Cheryl of Raymond, NH, Michael Therrien of Deerfield, NH, Jon Therrien and his wife Maryellen of Deerfield, NH.
