Ruth Marie Havens

Ruth Marie O'Connell Havens, age 78 died February 25, 2012 at her home in Weare, NH. Ms. Havens was born July 16, 1933 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Peter F. O'Connell and Mary E. Duffy.

Ms. Havens is survived by 7 children, son, John Havens and wife, Suzanne of Derry, NH, son, Peter Havens and wife, Sharon of Brookline, NH, son, Michael Havens and wife, Colleen of Burgaw, NC, daughter, Kathleen Connor and husband, Thomas of Weare, NH, (with whom she lived), daughter, Corrine Scanlon and husband, Edward of Weare, NH, daughter, Kristine Price and husband, Douglas of Laconia, NH, and daughter, Lorene and partner Dale Coe of Weare, NH, ex-husband John Havens of Newport Richie, FL, 20 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren, brother, Kevin O'Connell of Wilmington, MA, two pre-deceased sisters, Bernice O'Connell Surette and Patricia O'Connell Pucci of East Boston, MA, and two brother-in-laws Donald Surette and Anthony Pucci of East Boston, MA.

Ms. Havens will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and steadfast love and delight for her children and grandchildren. She was always their greatest champion. She also showed proactive compassion to the under privileged as she reached out to many throughout her life.

A private family viewing will be held at the Cremation Society of New Hamsphire in Manchester, NH.

As a life-long supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital and The Salvation Army, Ms. Havens had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of these organizations.
