Ruth V. Studley, 84, of North Conway died peacefully on June 3, 2002 at home at the Merriman House after a brief illness. Mrs. Studley was born on February 13, 1918 the daughter of the late Alfred and Blanche (Johnson) DiVirgilio. She was born, raised and educated in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn English High School. In the early to mid 1940's Ruth was a clerk typist for the Army Corps. of Engineers in Boston. She was a resident of Swampscott, MA until 1997 when she moved to the Merriman House in North Conway. While there she enjoyed the company of many friends and a very caring staff. Ruth passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her most. She was an avid tennis player and was a member of the Upper Swampscott Improvement Association. She was extremely fond of cats and dogs and will be greatly missed by her animal friends as well. She is survived by a devoted son, James M. Studley and his fiancee, Bobbi Yale of Glen, NH; and a son, Robert E. Studley Jr. and his wife, Felicia of Billerica, MA. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Studley Sr. in 1968. Burial will take place at later date at Swampscott Cemetery in Swampscott, MA.
