Ruth May Webster, 92, of 169 Amherst Rd, Merrimack, NH died on March 5, 2005 at the Harborside Health and Rehabilitation facility in Milford, NH. She was born August 17, 1912 in Newport, Maine, the daughter of Albert B. Hubley and Ethel I. (Hammond) Hubley. Her younger years were spent in Milford and Nashua. She graduated from Nashua High school. Mrs Webster married Sumner S. Webster Sr on September 6, 1936 in Nashua. Mrs Webster was predeceased by her husband in March 1987. She and her family moved to Northfield, NH, in 1948, then Tilton, NH, in 1952, where she resided for 35 years. While in Tilton, Mrs. Webster owned and operated Websters House of Violets. She was a nationally recognized judge of African Violets and other flowers of the Gesnariad family, traveling throughout the United States judging shows, and exhibiting several of her own varieties of African Violets. She was active in the Campfire Girls, the Tilton-Northfield Womens Club and an avid bird watcher. Mrs. Webster moved to Merrimack in 1987, and during her time there assisted her son and daughter-in-law in the establishment and operations of their horse farm, Moonlite Arabians. The family includes her son, Sumner S. Webster Jr and his wife, Crystal-Moon Webster of Merrimack; 3 grandchildren, Andrew S. Webster of California and Jill Amber Webster and Mark A. Webster of New Hampshire; 2 brothers Stanley and John Hubley of Florida and 4 sisters, Shirley Roby and Alice Brackett of New Hampshire, Edith Mullard of Nevada and Ethel Bishop of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Annette Pihl of Milford. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are private.
