For the second time in just a month this family was shattered by the loss of their mother after just losing their father in January. Sandra J. Harper age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday February 12, 2024 at Concord Hospital following a brief illness, with her family by her side. Sandra was predeceased by her husband of 66 years. She is survived by two children Paula Harper, Eric Harper (Linda), 4 Grandchildren Cassidy Clairmont (Chuck), Haylee Silver (Brandon), Molly Harper, Jacob Harper (Jackie).  3 Great Grandchildren, Eliza and Milo Clairmont and Harper Silver.  Many dear neighbors, friends, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Frank, parents Russell and Izabella Hokinson, brother Neil Hokinson, and Son-in-law James (Huggy) Lawrence.

Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Never missing a school play, football game, soccer game, rugby match or dance recital. She loved making handmade sweaters and braided rugs for her family. Often times on special occasions presents being handmade with love from her. Every time she found out a new great-grand baby was coming her knitting needles, started turning out gifts. She was renowned for her Christmas fudge. Made once a year and gifted to all. She was also the NH Cherry Pie baking winner in the 1950’s and got to travel to Chicago to compete in the National competition.

She loved a good party, for over 40 years, the Sunday before Christmas, her family, friends and neighbors could be found at her home enjoying a wonderful holiday party and meal. In her later years she loved to sit and read. She was always up to a road trip, especially if it was to the beach.  

After her retirement from the NH Secretary of State’s office. She started making santas and snowmen and attending craft fairs. She loved the social aspect. As she aged, she was always happy to attend a good craft fair. She gifted many a Santa or snowman to friends and family over the years. Fifty years ago, Frank and Sandra along with a few other hearty volunteers were the founding members of Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance service in the Pembroke, Allenstown, Hooksett areas.  

SERVICES: Memorial and Interment to follow at a later date. Her family wishes to thank the amazing staff of Concord Hospital 4th floor particularly Nurse Nicole Hughes and Dr. M. Mertz for their kindness and care.
