Goffstown, NH – Sarah E. Humphrey, 84, died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2012 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past 4 years.
Sarah was born on Feb. 5, 1927 in Saint Albans Maine to Archie D. and Phyllis (Goundry) Parker Sr. She lived and worked in the Central Maine area for most of her life. She worked in the shoe factory industry for 30 years.
She was married for 48 years to the late Jefferson Humphrey Jr. and had 4 children. She was a wonderful, loving and caring person who will surely be missed.
She is survived by two sons, Daryl Humphrey and wife Dorothy of Hartland Maine, Bryan Humphrey and wife Sherry of Shelbyville Tennessee and one daughter Tonia Carr of Manchester New Hampshire. Four sisters Madeline Hollister, Freda Wheeler, Iona Knight, Pauline Coolen and one brother Henry Parker all from Maine: Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was predeceased by her son Dennis Humphrey, two sisters Arlene Jewell and Kathleen Brooks, and six brothers Archie, John, Elbridge, Ulysses, Howard and Wallace.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter Office, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472
