Serophino J. Lewis

Serophino "John" Lewis, 84, of 26 Warren Lane, Boothbay, Maine, died January 11, 2003, at the Veteran Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 8, 1918, the son of Manuel and Maria (Mello) Lewis and in 1952 he moved to Burlington, Ma., and later in 1986 he settled in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. John was a W.W. II Navy Veteran. He worked 40 years in Graphic Arts and was a printer for Wellesley Press for 20 years. Mr. Lewis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very active resident of the Boothbay Harbor Community and was well known by all. Family members include his wife of 53 years Katherine (O'Rourke) Lewis of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, two sons; Patrick Lewis of Billerica, Ma., and Kevin Lewis of Burlington, Ma., two daughters: Sandra Fredette of Auburn, NH and Kathy Lewis of Denver, Colorado, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend a Memorial Reception for Mr. Lewis at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street on Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 3 o'clock with the service immediately following in the chapel for 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veteran Medical Center, Patient Care, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104.
