Sheila Ella Bragg Gray Johnson, 83, passed away on November 16, 2025, after a long decline in health.
She was born on May 1942 in East Machias, Maine, to Charlotte A. (Howard) and Maurice E. Bragg. She lived most of her life in Connecticut, but most recently lived in Nashua, NH.
In September 1959, she married Rex Gray and they raised two children, Kevin and Sherri. In May 1991, she married Wallace Johnson and became step-mom to the Johnson clan. She worked in various jobs throughout her life but was most proud of her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in various medical facilities.
From the age of 15, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many volunteer roles and as president of the Manchester Connecticut Congregation’s Women’s Relief Society organization. She always cared for her family and extended family and loved to cook Italian and especially loved to make desserts.
Sheila was pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers, Maurice E. “Jack” Bragg, Jr., Forrest Bragg, her husband, Wallace Johnson, and her stepdaughter, Karen Haley. She is survived by her brother, Rodney Bragg, her first husband, Rex Gray, their children, Kevin Gray and Sherri Puida, seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Debbie Johnson, Wallace “Butch” Johnson Jr, Sandy Poulin, their children and grandchildren and Karen Haley’s children and grandchildren.
Interment is planned at the Jacksonville Cemetery, East Machias, ME.
