Sheila I. (Simons) Sedmak, 92, sadly left us on October 12, 2022 and is now with her beloved husband, John, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2016. She was born on May 6, 1930 to Elmer and Clara (Farr) Simons in Littleton, NH where she was raised and attended local schools. After she married, Sheila became a devoted military wife supporting John during his decades of honorable service until his retirement from the U.S. Army. They settled first in VA and then moved to Nashua where she began a long volunteer career at St. Joseph’s Hospital (35+ years) and other local organizations.
She had many interests through the years and enjoyed crafting, knitting, baking, candy making, puzzling, playing cards and genealogy. Sheila and John also kept busy dancing, bowling and traveling.
She is survived by her brother Norman Simons, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their children, her sister-in-law, Helen Sedmak and cherished friends. Sheila is predeceased by her brother Ronald Simons, and sisters-in-law Alice Simons and Marguerite Simons. Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Hunt Community for their special care and attention, especially during the last year of her life.
Services will be held at the Parish of the Resurrection Church, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, NH 03063, on November 3, 2022 at 11 AM. Interment will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sheila’s name can be made to the Nashua Children’s Home, 125 Amherst St., Nashua, NH 03064.
