Sheldon L. Casey

Sheldon Lee Casey, 67 years old, died August 10 at the Harborside Nursing Facility in Peterborough, NH after a long illness. He was born in Limington, ME son of Walter and Nathlee (Sanborn) Casey. After graduating from Ashland High School, Sheldon served 20 years in the Air Force retiring in 1978. He also retired from the Indian Head Plywood Company in Presque Isle after 19 years. Mr. Casey is survived by 7 sisters and brothers. Rita Webster of Levant, ME, Ramona Plourde of Antrim, NH, Ethel Milano of Chichester, NH, Walter Casey of Jacksonville, FL, Victor Casey of Union, ME, Barbara Casey of Steep Falls, ME and Wanda Flint of Washburn, ME. Sheldon was well known for arriving at Irish gatherings dressed as a leprechaun. He was an avid collector of all things Irish. He enjoyed gardening as well as hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Aroostook County Fish and Game Club as well as the American Veterans Association. Memorial Services will be held in Ashland at a later date.
