Shirley Brown

Shirley Brown, 91, died on February 3, 2023 at Valley Regional Hospital surround by her family. She was born on December 8, 1931 in Massachusetts, the only child of Francis and Marie (Couture) Pasho. She later moved to Croydon, NH where she spent many years raising her family and later moved to Claremont, NH where she helped raise her granddaughter, Chelsea. Shirley was a hard-working woman, whose many jobs included house/business cleaning, child care, cooking and nursing home aide. She retired from McCoy Nursing home after many years of service. She was happiest when she was working and often said how lucky others were to still be able to work. Shirley never got her driver’s license which was sometimes a challenge when she lived in Croydon but she enjoyed walking and after moving to Claremont, she was happy she could walk to the local shops and diners. She was always up for playing games; especially Bingo, Uno, Rummy and Spades with her friends and sister-in-law Ann. She loved her cat, Jill, watching Westerns, trips to Wal-Mart and visits from family and friends. She would always light up around her great grandchildren, how they brought her great joy.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, and two infant daughters, Judy and Cathy. She is survived by her two sons, John (Pam) Brown & Kevin Brown; her grandchildren Tyler (Meagan) Brown, Kendyl (Josh) Tetreault, Chelsea Brown & Owen Lanou; great grandchildren Kensley, Weston, Joseph, Lilly & Charlotte; brother-in-law Fred Brown; nieces Nancy Brown & Donna Smith.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Shawn Walsh for his care and friendship to Shirley over the last few years. We are so grateful for all that he did and for his kindness and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Croydon Town Hall, Croydon, NH
