Shirley M. Corbit

Shirley Marguerite-Marie Corbit 86, of Nashua NH passed away December 23, 2021, after a long illness .

She was predeceased by her devoted husband Cardin Lee Corbit, her parents Theresa (Lavoie) and Albert Morissette and her granddaughter Crystal Corbit.

Shirley is survived by her son Kevin Corbit and his wife Nancy, her son Michael Corbit and his wife Sue, her daughter Teressa Corbit and her son Kurt Corbit and his wife Angela and her 10 grandchildren Shawn Shannon, Tina, Cardin, Robert, Alexander, Jesse, Christopher, Cameron, and Blake as well as 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Shirley was raised in Hudson NH and attended Alvirne High School. Shirley worked several manufacturing jobs, Sportwelt Shoe, Horton & Hubbard, Sprague Electric and Kollsman.

During her journey of life, Shirley worked bartending at the Golden Dragon until she retired, she enjoyed going to the ocean and loved visiting locations with lighthouses. Nubble lighthouse was one of her favorites. Over the years her love of Teddy Bears turned into quite the collection. She loved her Ice Cream! She once went to Kimball Farms and had the Kimball Special and finished the whole thing. But her favorite place to go for ice cream was the Big One in Merrimack.

Shirley’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as Uma and there wasn’t a baby that she could not calm and lull to sleep. Shirley was kind to every stranger she met. Often, she would bring someone to the house who needed a place to sleep or who needed a meal. She always had an ear to listen, and a heart filled with love for others. She taught her children to show kindness and to offer help to those in need.

SERVICES: A Memorial Gathering will be held at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester on Sunday January 16th from 2PM - 3:30PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 3:30 in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
