Shirley R. Creedon, 72, of Merrimack died March 22, 2007 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Creedon was born on August 28, 1934 in Brookline, MA the daughter of Robert and Eulah (Etheridge) Richardson. She graduated with honors from Simmons College where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work. Shirley worked for the State of Massachusetts as a statistician in the field of cancer research for a brief period of time. She met and married John W. Creedon in 1956 and the couple had 50 wonderful years together. In 1960, they relocated to New Hampshire and in the 1970’s she began working as a substitute teacher in the Merrimack School System. Shirley was a dedicated wife and mother and the love she had for her family was paramount. She had a great sense of humor, always having a smile to share and was an excellent communicator. She was an avid bridge player and involved in Merrimack town government where she assisted as a ballot inspector. Shirley was a member of Women’s Club in Hillsboro and Merrimack as well as a member of the Congregational Church of Hillsboro and Merrimack. Family members include; her husband, John W. Creedon; three sons, Jack Creedon of Henniker; Larry Creedon of Littleton, MA and Paul Creedon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Amanda of Hudson. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 427B, Concord, NH 03301.
