Shirley Worcester, 94, of Concord, died February 26, 2009, at the Pleasant View Center. He was born in Lebanon, NH on August 23, 1914, a son of Guy and Iola (Twombly) Worcester. After college graduation, he worked as a pharmacist at McNeal's Drug Store until 1943 when he moved to Concord to work at Roberts Drug Store. In 1947, he and three friends bought Sullivan's Drug Store at One North Main Street and opened the Corner Pharmacy. He finished his career at the Prescription Center. He loved fly-tying, fishing, basketball, camping, and jazz music. He was an active and vital man who was able to drive up 'til the end. He will be missed and remembered as a pillar of his community. He leaves his wife Beulah (Taylor) Worcester; a son, Thomas Worcester and wife, Suzanne of Hopkinton; grandson Guy Worcester of Hopkinton; granddaughter, Kim and her husband, Scott of Spern of Concord, and great grandchildren Kate, Eli, and Willa all of Concord. A family gathering will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 6:00 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street Boscawen.
