After a long and courageous journey with thyroid cancer, Shobha Hegde, 67, of Westford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Shobha’s life was marked by resilience and strength. Over the years, she lived in eight towns, seven states, and nine homes across the United States. Through every move and transition, she created warmth, stability, and a deep sense of belonging wherever she lived. With her talent for decorating, organizing, and caring for her family, she transformed each house into a true home. She was the best cook, and her meals were a true expression of her love for her family. She raised two daughters with dedication without outside help and took immense pride in being a grandmother.

Shobha volunteered at hospitals, temples, and the Chinmaya Center. Her spiritual life was a source of great strength. She loved chanting and actively participated in several online chanting groups.

She is survived by her loving husband, Shankar, her daughters, Sheela and Priya, her son-in-law, Kishore and her granddaughters, Karina, Sonia, and Nina. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength and love she so freely gave to her family and community.
