Stanley E. Glidden

Stanley "Skip" Glidden, born October 29, 1962., in Newport, passed away at home on November 13, 2017 after a 4 year battle with cancer.

Skip was a man of many talents. He loved doing landscaping, yard work, being outdoors and going camping with his sons. He was the "little" brother to his family and friends alike. He was a man who would do his best to help out anyway he could. Skip worked hard at many jobs, from being a volunteer firefighter in his younger years to managing several drug stores during his brief move to Louisiana. His favorite job of all was working for Comcast because he was able to work outdoors as well as indoors, meet people and do his job well. He was injured in 2006 while working and could not fully return to work. In 2013, Skip was diagnosed with cancer. He decided to fight by trying several treatments to prolong his life. His only wish was to be able to live long enough to see his sons graduate high school. Unfortunately, that didn't happen but when the time comes I know he will be there - in spirit and the hearts of his boys shining with pride.

Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Elenor (Ford) Glidden; 3 brothers, Duane, Larry and Kim; 4 sisters, Donna, Diane Kangas, Julie Gagne and Sandra Godsoe.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Kathy; 2 daughters, Meghann and Brieanna; 2 sons, Brandon and Devon; 3 grandsons; 2 sisters, Pam Joslin and Patricia Glidden; and 2 brothers, Donnie and Kenny Glidden.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the residence of Bob and Cody Kangas, Newport, on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 1:00 to 3:00P.M. Kindly contact the family for further information.
