Stephanie Temple Nagle

Stephanie Temple Nagle, mother to Alex Temple Nagle, passed away on July 8, 2023, after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her parents, Percy and Dorothy Temple. In her final days, she was cared for by her son, Alex, and his wife, Jessica.

Stephanie was born in Burlington, Vermont, and graduated from the University of Vermont. While at UVM, she made friendships that she cherished and maintained throughout her lifetime.

After graduating from UVM, she lived in Massachusetts for many years before returning to her beloved Vermont. Stephanie enjoyed a career in real estate and volunteering for the Chamber of Commerce. She was a lifelong learner, self-taught chef, superb skier, avid reader, and world traveler who later studied theology, becoming an ordained Episcopal minister. Her faith was deeply important and guided her convictions to help others.

For the past twenty years, she resided in Island Pond, Vermont, and was committed to a life of service. She was a parishioner at Christ Episcopal Church, where she enjoyed sharing her faith with friends. She is best known for her role in Island Pond's Chamber of Commerce and organizing town events like Friday Night Lights and the 4th of July Celebration. She was proud that these events helped to support local businesses and, more importantly, brought joy to families in her chosen community. She spent years working at local elementary schools and adored working with the students. In her free time, she volunteered at local food banks and rescued many cats from near and far.

Known for her abounding energy, independent spirit, and passion for helping those in need, Stephanie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Stephanie's family asks her to be remembered for her service to others, sense of humor, boisterous laugh, and contagious smile.

She is survived by her son, Alex, his wife, Jessica; her granddaughters, Stella and Julia; and her cat, Big Red.
