Stephen (Steve) R. Davis, 61, of Meredith, New Hampshire peacefully passed away with his wife and loving family at his side Friday, June 21, 2019, following a period of declining health.
Steve was born on October 27, 1957 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, New Hampshire. The son of Melba (Evans) Davis, he spent his early years in the lakes region of New Hampshire, then moved and lived in the Bradenton/Sarasota area for more than 30 years. He graduated from Manatee County High School in 1976. Following graduation from High School, he served with the U.S Air Force from 1976 to 1979. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked at the Manatee County Water Department for 10 years, also working as a plumber, painter and jack of all trades.
While living in Florida, he spent his free time fishing, and as he got older he participated in fishing tournaments. He continued to fish throughout his life, and his motto was; 'It's not the fish, it's the fishing'.
In 1993, he returned to New Hampshire where he met his wife and raised their family. Steve was an avid reader, true blue New England Patriots and old school Nascar fan. He loved going to concerts, to the ocean, riding his Harley, camp fires, the smell of cut grass, the company of his friends and most of all his family.
Steve is survived by his wife; Stormy (Sharp) Davis, daughter, Samantha Davis of Boscawen, New Hampshire; daughter, Meranda Davis of Lee, Maine, his son, Stephen Davis of Meredith, New Hampshire, and his beloved grandchildren Jai-Lynn, Ari/Rosa, Landen, Peyden, Brayden, and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda (Davis) Alati of Center Harbor, New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.
Steve's family would like to thank those special friends and family who, without fail supported our family through this trying time as well as the nurses from Lakes Region VNA and Hospice and Comfort Keepers for all their help and support.
