Stephen P. Gilmartin, 55 of Manchester, NH, passed away at home on September 2, 2024 after a ten year battle with cancer. Born in Manchester on May 25, 1969, he was the son of the late Stephen Gilmartin and Mary Lou (Gregoire) Gilmartin.
A lifelong resident of the Manchester and Hooksett area, he was a 1987 graduate of Central High School. He did various forms of trade work throughout his career, including masonry and sheet metal fabrication, notably working for AAA Masonry, and API NH. Stephen worked hard to play hard, and was a member of Even Par Social Club. He enjoyed fishing and going for rides with his son. Stephen had a large family who he cherished spending time with- from coaching baseball when his children were young to family gatherings and holidays, he relished the opportunity to be surrounded by his loved ones.
Stephen is survived by his children, Jacob Gilmartin of Manchester, Abigail Gilmartin of Hooksett, and Aaron Gilmartin of Hooksett; his mother, Mary Lou Gilmartin of Manchester; his siblings, Colleen Chen and her husband Andrew of Franconia, Teresa Schott and her husband Christopher of Danville, Daniel Gilmartin of Manchester, Kelly Johonnett of Manchester, and Patrick Gilmartin and his wife Jaime of Manchester; his granddaughter, Delilah Gilmartin of Manchester; his former wife, Katrina Gilmartin of Hooksett; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, special cousins, and friends. Stephen was predeceased by his daughter, Alicia Gilmartin; his father, Stephen Gilmartin; and his siblings Roger Couturier and Kathleen Gilmartin.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, September 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 14 Elm Street, Manchester, NH. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery will be held privately at a later date.
