Stephen Hudson

Stephen Royer Hudson, born on March 13, 1943, passed away at the age of 78 on October 29, 2021 at his daughter’s home, following a nine-month battle with metastatic prostate cancer.

Surviving him are his children, Mrs. Emmy Hudson-Swogger of North Conway, NH and Mrs. Clare Righini of Durham, NH; his two sons-in-law, Nick and Scott; his four grandchildren, Riley, Colin, Morgan and Madelyn; and his sisters, Mrs. Ann Marn of Chagrin Falls, OH and Mrs. Nancy Taylor of Westerville, OH. His wife of 42 years, Beth Hudson and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest and Elizabeth “Bettie” Hudson predeceased him.

Steve graduated from The University of Notre Dame with a BA in English in 1965 and from Xavier University with an MBA in 1968. Steve was described as a gentleman, a determined businessman, an eternal optimist, and a jokester. Steve was a dedicated husband, an involved, supportive and loving father and a proud Papa. Steve enjoyed music, swimming, riding on boats and trains, and mostly spending time with his family. Steve always had a special place in his heart for dogs. He touched the hearts of many, and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life and spreading of Steve’s and Beth’s ashes are planned for the summer of 2022 in Marco Island FL, where Steve and Beth vacationed often. The celebration will be attended by Steve’s daughters, his sisters and their families. Those wishing to make a contribution in Steve’s honor and to promote proactive lifesaving prostate screenings can give donations online at https://www.pcf.org/patient-resources/family-cancer-risk/screening/ and click on Donate.

We very much appreciate your concern, prayers, and support during this very trying time.
