Stephen Mack

Stephen Aloysius Mack passed away on December 8, 2017. Born October 30, 1921 in Woburn, MA to the late Max F. and Josephine (Murray) Macalouski. He was the husband of Patricia Mack of Atkinson, NH.

Steve enlisted in the army during World War II. He attended Officers Training School at Fort Benning, Georgia and saw action as a Second Lieutenant and Company Commander in the European Theater of Operation in the 106th Infantry Division. Steve earned his BS in Journalism from Boston University. He became a reporter and later received a MA in English. Stephen earned his Master's Degree in Education, Counseling Psychology. Stephen spent years as an advertising executive, traveling extensively to Mexico and Central America. Following his career in advertising, he became Sr. Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communication in Boston, MA. During this time, Steve and his former wife Mary raised six children in Cohasset, MA. Steve later worked as a consultant in California, where he and Patricia lived for three years, then Dallas and Boston. He retired in 1986.

Steve had a deep love for Patricia and his family. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and three great granddaughters. Steve had a soft spot for animals. Steve and Patricia fostered over a hundred dogs, adopting nine older ones needing special care. A devout Catholic, Steve found great comfort and strength in his faith. He will best be remembered for his sense of humor and generous heart.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Patricia (Walsh) Mack of Atkinson; daughter, Anne Mack Rose and husband Alexander Rose of Cohasset, MA; four sons, Kevin J. and Michaela Mack of New Canaan, CT, James M. Mack and Ann (Cotter) Mack of Scituate, MA, William M. and Karen (McSweeney) Mack of Cohasset, MA, and Christopher D. Mack of Reading, MA. He was brother-in-law to Catherine & A. Terence Lee of Atkinson, NH, and Michael and Linda Walsh of Tiverton, RI, ten grandchildren; three great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by son, Stephen A. Mack, Jr.; brother, William Murray Mack, Sr.; two sisters, Sr. Barbara Macalouski, SSJ., and Mary Macalouski; nephew, William Murray Mack, Jr.; and former wife and friend, Mary Mack Hunt and brother-in-law Brian Walsh..

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH 03841 on Monday, December 18th at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent in his name to The Homeland Heroes Foundation, 224 N. Broadway, Unit E-1, Salem, NH 03079, www.HomelandHeroesFoundation.org.
