Susan Elaine (Field) Ball

October 14, 1952 — February 27, 2025

Boscawen, NH

Susan Elaine (Field) Ball, 72, of Boscawen, NH passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH on Thursday, February 27, 2025, after a long and hard-fought health battle.

Sue was born October 14, 1952, in Concord, NH to the late Alfred Field Sr and Marion (Abbott) Field. She was raised in Concord and graduated in 1970 from Concord High School. Sue attended NHTI where she graduated in 1972 as a member of the first radiology technology class.

It was in college that Sue met her soul mate, Dan, whom she went on to marry on April 10, 1976. They raised their two children, Sarah and Dan Jr, in Concord before retiring to their new home in Boscawen. Sue loved to travel, camp, and open her home to friends and family whenever possible. She enjoyed vacation camping all over the Northeast with her family, as well as fun camping trips locally. Most recently, she loved to visit her winter home in Florida with Dan and her pup. While raising her family, Sue enjoyed opening her home to exchange students from around the world and to inner-city youth from the Fresh Air Kid Program. She maintained many of these relationships throughout the remainder of her life. Sue worked in the x-ray field the majority of her career and then retired as a customer service representative at Duncraft.

Sue was a funny, stubborn, and caring woman who loved her family more than anything else in this world. Her main focus, enjoyment, and pride was being a Grammie. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and there was nothing she enjoyed more than seeing them happy and attending all their sporting events, recitals, and concerts. Sue would say she had a wonderful life because of the special times she spent with her husband and family. She believed and showed those around her that family love is truly unconditional and those you love always come first. To her, friends were family too.

In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Field Jr, and three precious grandchildren, Katelyn, Michael, and Joseph.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Dan; daughter, Sarah Ziegler and her husband, Roger; son, Dan Jr and his wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Brady, Brennan, Sophia, Daniel, Trevor, Hannah, Makenzie; and many nieces and nephews, as well as her sweet dog, Louie.
