Susan Hight

Susan Margaret Hight (Serino), 70, of Easton, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born to the late John and Betty Serino in Elmont, NY on May 28, 1953. She grew up in Floral Park, NY and graduated from Sewanhaka High School. In 1980, Susan graduated from the American Medical Training Institute Nurse’s Aide Program in Miami, Florida and worked as a dedicated licensed nursing assistant for over 40 years across multiple states, but most notably a 30+ year career in Franconia, NH at, what is now, the Lafayette Center.

Foremost, Susan was a mother who cared greatly for her son and treated many of his friends like her own children. She sincerely shared her love and cared for them, always willing to lend a hand and have a conversation. Family was her focus in life as she loved her parents, siblings and nieces and nephews unconditionally and was a steadfast member of the Serino family. Susan had close ties to the community and created many loving relationships with friends, often referring to Kathy McLaughlin of Franconia, NH as her own sister.

She was a baptized Catholic with a strong sense of spirituality and loved nature, music, and animals of which she had multiple dogs and cats throughout her life.

Susan is survived by her son, Jamie Hight and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Robinson, of Bangor, Maine, and her eldest sister, Ellen Etzel of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Susan was predeceased by her brothers, John and Paul Serino.
