Susan Marguerite (Szewczyk) Laflotte, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at Bedford Hills Center, Bedford, NH.
She was born September 14, 1955, in the Azores and was the beloved wife of Maurice John Laflotte for 48 years and daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Cialek) Szewczyk.
Besides her husband, Susan is survived by her siblings and their spouses and many dear nieces, nephews and great nephews. She leaves behind sister Kathryn and her husband Albert Trudeau of Nashua, NH, brother Thomas and his wife Kimberly Szewczyk of Reedville, VA, brother Stephen Szewczyk of Nashua, NH, sister Sharon Szewczyk of Nashua, NH, sister Karen and her husband Ronald Fortier of Amesbury, MA, and sister Maureen and her ex-husband James Karpf of Manchester, NH.
Susan spent most of her life in southern New Hampshire, where she made a home centered around her family and many friends. She was known for her beautiful smile, generous heart and many talents including cooking, baking, gardening, and jewelry-making. For many years, Susan lovingly prepared a joyous Christmas Eve celebration featuring her delicious pierogis, golumpkis and deserts. These gatherings brought together large groups of family and friends and were a cherished tradition in her home. She also enjoyed bowling, the outdoors, camping and fishing with John.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, with services taking place at 4:30pm, at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH, 03104.
