Susan M. Vayens

Susan Mary (Crilly) Vayens, age 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on June 21, 2025, in Antrim, New Hampshire. Born on April 10, 1949, in Bay Shore, New York, Susan brought warmth and light to every place she called home, especially the town of Antrim, where she spent most of her adult life.

Susan was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Lillian Crilly and sister to Patricia Aubrey and Joan Doughty, all of whom preceded her in death. She carried forward their legacy with grace and strength, becoming a pillar of love and resilience for her own family.

She is deeply mourned by her children: David Thomas, Charissa Kazlauskas, son-in-law, John Kazlauskas, Siobhan Leclerc, son-in-law, Justin Leclerc, Benjamin Vayens, daughter-in-law, Kimeka Vayens, Alberta Vayens, Sueren McKinnon, son-in law, Zach McKinnon, and Rene Vayens. Her love extended fully to her fifteen grandchildren, Sierra, Dylan, Mackenzie, Nadia, John, Aryanah, Aiden, Briella, Keegan, William, Sophie, Nolan, Benjamin, Wyatt, and Catherine; each of whom held a special place in her heart. Susan also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished her presence in their lives.

Known for her boundless kindness and unwavering care for others, Susan exemplified what it meant to love unconditionally. She taught those around her the true meaning of family values—not through words alone but through daily acts of compassion and strength. Her independence was matched only by her humor and grounded nature; she had a way of making people feel seen and valued wherever she went.

Susan had a deep love for travel, whether it was an adventurous journey or a simple road trip around New Hampshire. These drives were more than just movement from one place to another; they were moments filled with laughter, stories shared over scenic views, and memories made with those she loved most.

Her connection to the community was profound. Having worked at Sylvania and lived in Antrim for much of her life, Susan became a familiar face to many. It was not uncommon for people to recognize her wherever she went, a testament to the lasting impressions she left on friends old and new. Her door was always open to anyone who stopped by family, friends and even strangers.

Susan’s legacy is one of enduring love and heartfelt connection. Her spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched so deeply.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Renew Church, 53 Elmwood Road, Hancock, New Hampshire 03449.
